Banco32
is a small restaurant located inside the Mercato delle erbe (Herb Market) in Bologna, opposite Andrea's fishmonger. We face directly onto Via San Gervasio.
What we offer is a dual formula: a lunchtime we are a fast-service restaurant, while in the evening we serve TAPAS-style aperitifs.
Banco 32 is a place where you can get together and enjoy fish: eat at the counter or sit at a table, chatting with your fellow diners. We always offer some vegetarian options as well for those who don't find out main ingredient to their taste.
We are three partners: the kitchen is run by Lionel Joubaud, a Breton chef with a culinary culture captures the spirit of the Mediterranean, from Italy, to Egypt, to Greece. In the dining room you'll find Paola Donati, a Tuscan who left architecture to enter the catering business, via routes with organic farmers, and Maurice Kavanagh, a Londoner in love with Italy and who has managed restaurants in Milan for years.
In short: a special and lively blend of traditions and cultures.
We've given Banco32 a "subtitle": "The market kitchen."
It is from this historic market in Bologna, which we believe in, that we draw the inspiration, motivation, and resources every morning to offer a menu made up of a few different dishes every day; we get the 100% fresh fish, the fruits and vegetables, and the cheeses from the market stalls.
In the evening, our varied TAPAS dishes, made with raw and cooked fish, offer a pleasant moment to be enjoyed with the wines from our menu.
